30 Days of Power Principles: # 18 Pull out the weeds

I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant. [Jer. 1:10]

Purging the new seeds we sow is not enough. Pulling the weeds is just as important.

Those of you who have had a garden, know how weeds ruin your ground. They consume the nutrients needed by the plants you’ve planted. They choke the life out of everything. They add no value to anything.

I hate weeds! Way too many people are tangled in the weeds the enemy has planted in their minds.

Weeds represent false ideas, thought patterns and philosophies. Notice God tells Jeremiah he has appointed him to pull out and break down before he even plants and builds.

I wish things worked by just making sure we purge the seeds we sow. However, there are many weeds we need to pull out before we can secure the seeds can be planted.

False ideas about marriage have ruined many of families. We all bring weed thought patterns into our marriages and those must be pulled out if new thought patterns are to be planted. False ideas about God have pushed many people from believing in Him. False ideas about money have gotten many people in debt they can never repay.

Weeds grow even if you do nothing. The pop culture plants false images and ideas into our brains without some of us even realizing it.

It takes the mirror of the Word of God and prophetic discernment to track down these weeds. And we do, we need to be determined, forceful and consistent if we are to see breakthrough.
